How to develop my discussions and thoughts learnt from teaching session and group work?
Writing learning diary is as one of way to express my competences professional teacher education programme in OAMK. Every Propeda students were required to create own blog and write own blog and review peer's at least two articles for pedagogical planning and assessment competence especially in reflection, review and peer feedback session. My two peers were Hjanne and Majid.
Teaching session day on 19.10.2022
Participants in the webinar went through group tutoring briefly. And we had 5 different group to learn and discuss about given bias from 50 cognitive bias to be aware of. Our group's bias were given to discuss about groupthink, halo effect, curse of knowledge, spotlight effect etc. We discussed how groupthink and halo effect are related and lead to unwanted decisions in order to avoid conflicts. A leading person's leadership or person who give positive traits are important in a group. Because those people can direct to wrong way as well. Curse of knowledge's bias, student can emphasize to know and assume to know about information to everyone. Spotlight effect's bias, student can think they are getting attentions always and it will result in their behaviours. Personally 50 cognitive bias were very good to rethink and improve how my roles and character in student's group during Professional teacher education studies.

How to give feedback on peer's blog writing?
We had check-list to evaluate blog's learning diary's qualities as below:
|
Use of references & sources |
Is the blog reflecting personal point of view? |
Is the writer linking the topic to his/her vocational and professional world and working life related situations? |
Is the writer dealing with all the given core questions? |
|
Comments of the blogs of other students |
Comments on own group’s work Comments on OTHER groups’ work |
Explaining how & why the contents of own group’s presentations were chosen |
Readability, language, grammar |
Ability to explain what is/was difficult? |
Ability to explain what worked well in presentations & why it worked well? |
Accessible or not / clear enough (or a labyrinth) / visual look |
Are the contents appropriate and dealing with the given topic? |
Is the depth/length sufficient? |
Is the language good enough, are the quotes/citations in place? |
Do the posts clearly indicate the original source when using citations/quotes or any material found elsewhere? Is there a list of references at the end of the blog entry? |
How is the visual aspect of blog (layout, images, colours etc.) supporting the content and the writer's competence? |

When I have reviewed peer's blog articles, I noticed that everybody's learning style, learning process, analysis on topics are vary. For example, One of peers' articles were mainly focused on how their group proceed group working, how she dealt with stresses in any unpredictable system error and team works issue, what she want to improve such as co-teaching techniques. According to those list to check up blogs, It was very helpful to give feedback peer's blog both weak and good part. It made good experiences to evaluate and participate in discussion as comments. The check-up list was exactly what makes readable learning diary's article for reviewer and writer especially by giving guideline to review own and others group work's process, understanding core questions, using references, language abilities,
I have got many feedbacks which are good and to be better in the future. Feedback what I got from two peers were that I had clear title to distinguish new topics, which are easy to read. They all agreed that group's work process was not mentioned and I had to explained that I did not have enough time to finish as well. We have discussed together about how to use references especially talking about my Padlet's comments examples. Padlet's comments were displayed in my blog two times in different way. First one is that I deleted participants name as anonymous. Second one was without deleting names because no matter how I delete name or not, when reader click link, they will see original contents. We conclude that we need to cite exact link or webpages well as references, when we use it. because although individual names are important but they still participated to study in public in webpage. Any information in link is belong to webpage's creator. I talked with peers as self-evaluation how my writing skills has been improved. For example, analysis on other group's teaching sessions. I personally think I have improved to consider and discuss on other group's teaching topic and ours by writing learning diary compare to very first teaching day's blog.
Padlet: What to consider to receive/give feedback
I remember all participants got review and feedback within small groups. We all had padlet assignment before closing webinar to think about what to consider to receive/give feedback.
Many of them mentioned that
do not take it seriously, consider about cultural sensitivity and differences, positive feedback is also important, open mind to accept feedback and so on.
Closing,
Learning diary in blog needs practice to show competences as a writer. Having open mind and freedom of speech to issue my articles in public are significantly important ;D Those 50 cognitive bias will be in my mind to remember for long time and this learning diary will be a good memory for myself. Thank you for reading.
